Corrections Volunteer Form

Thanks for your interest in Greater Seattle Intergroup’s (GSIG) Corrections Volunteer Program!

GSIG Corrections Volunteers carry the message of recovery to alcoholics who are in custody. The areas of focus include:

  • Bringing meetings and literature into facilities
  • Raising awareness of the Corrections Correspondence Service (C.C.S.) among “inside” and “outside” A.A. members
  • Helping individuals in custody transition to a local A.A. community through Prerelease Contacts

If you are interested in becoming a GSIG Corrections Volunteer, please complete this questionnaire. Please note that you will have the opportunity to identify which facilities you are interested in bringing meetings to. This questionnaire will ask you specific questions about your sobriety time. This will help our Corrections Volunteer Coordinator connect you with the facility coordinators based on volunteer eligibility requirements established by each facility.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All King County Correctional Facilities require no history (suspicion or conviction) of abuse against children and/or sexual abuse against children or adults.

This is an interest form does not replace the background screen and/or application that is required for the specific correctional facility you are interested in taking meetings into.

The purpose of this form is to help the Corrections Committee get you aligned with the most appropriate service opportunity based of your form responses.

If you need more information about the Seattle Intergroup Corrections Opportunities before you submit the questionnaire, please visit the following webpage: GSIG Corrections Opportunities August 2023. You may email questions to volunteercorrections@seattleaa.org.

CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT:  Your privacy is important to the GSIG Corrections Committee. Your questionnaire responses will be kept confidential. The responses will only be used to get your connected with a Corrections service opportunity.

Thanks, again, for your interest in Corrections. We are so excited for you to join us!
